Windsor Lake (the body of water within the town of Windsor, Weld Co.) had some
interesting birds this morning:
Glaucous Gull (probably 2nd cycle - essentially all white with pale bill with
black tip) - usually out within the main flock of gulls at the north end, seen
once on the logs in the northwest corner
Common Loon (1 in full breeding garb working the shallows along the northwest
corner shore)
Bonaparte's Gull (2 in basic plumage)
Greater Yellowlegs (1 in northwest corner on shore)
Clark's Grebe (at least 1 amid all the Westerns)
Gobs of Red-breasted Mergansers and Franklin's Gulls
Timnath Reservoir (Larimer Co., as viewed from the southside public parking
area):
Caspian Tern (first reported by Nick Komar, continues at a great distance on
the shore nne from the portapotty)
Peregrine Falcon (perched on the ground roughly on the same line as the tern,
further away on drier land)
Large number of waterfowl on the lake
