Just returned from a lunchtime run from the Carson Nature Center through South Platte Park. Spotted three osprey flapping low over Eaglewatch Lake, 2 more over Redtail Lake (yes, 5 in view simultaneously!). Minutes later I was under 470 into Chatfield and spotted another comfortably perched in a tree over the river, and another winging due north at high altitude having just come over Chatfield Dam! I am confident that was seven individuals over roughly one square mile! On my return trip, the snow was coming in pretty heavy, saw three perched low over the river and a fourth still flying over Eaglewatch . . . must be their travel day! None have landed on our new nesting tower on the southeast shore of Cooley Lake yet, but plenty will see it on this trip through at least! Skot Latona,South Platte Park, Littleton
