Barb & I recently made a roadtrip to Cortez where I attended a CFO board meeting to put finishing touches on the May 16 to 19 convention, which will no doubt be a lot of fun for all. We went from Boulder to Cañon City for ½ day birding, then up the Arkansas River to Salida for the night, next to Cortez for board meeting followed by night in Dove Creek, then up the Dolores River to Grand Junction for the night, then home via I-70 through Monday’s blizzard. (If you plan to do a similar loop to Cortez, consider the north leg first, as westbound I-70 is less congested than eastbound due to eastbound construction.) The scenic route to Cortez? You can’t go wrong as all roads in western Colorado are very scenic. What a beautiful state!

(Let me know if you would like a map for the location of any of these birds.) http://bit.ly/15duFhi Hope to see you in Cortez. It's going to be great!
