I have thoroughly enjoyed reading all of your posts regarding what is
happening locally and around the state. It's great having all of these
expert eyes from which to live vicariously through!

I have not had time to get more than a few minutes away from my home but
here are some updates from South Boulder.

Last night around 7 p.m. I was near the area where the Skunk Creek
trailhead meets Deer Valley Rd. I heard the unmistakeable wail of prairie
falcons come racing down the creek. I looked up to see two low flying
falcons engaging with one another and they flew off to the East over South
Boulder. Seconds later a Golden Eagle was just behind them heading in the
same direction. I could not determine whether the GOEA was involved with
their activity but it seems likely.

Wed and Thur their were two Osprey hanging around Viele Lake in the heart
of South Boulder and just below the Fairview High School Parking lot!

Tuesday at dusk I was hiking up the Skunk Creek Trail in the snow and
noticed roughly 50 robins spreading out and settling in for the evening in
the trees and shrubs along the creekbed. Suddenly they simultaneously
launched into the air and flew off towards the larger Ponderosas to the
South. Two seconds later a Cooper's Hawk came cruising along the creek
treetops heading up towards the canyon. It seemed to have no interest in
them and was on a mission to call it a day. It was a beautiful sight
watching it fly off into the snowfall and disappear up the creek.

Enjoy these next few weeks of intense passing through and arrivals!
