Yesterday, I birded North Park in the morning before returning to Boulder County via the Moose Visitor Center. The Jackson County Lions Club Wetland west of Walden had a singing Marsh Wren, a Merlin, and a Sharp-shinned Hawk that spooked about 29 Yellow-headed Blackbirds.
The Caspian Tern reported previously by Nick Komar was still present at Walden Reservoir where other birds included 7 Willets,. Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, Western and Eared Grebes (courting), a single Bonaparte's Gull, 2 Franklin's Gulls, 5 Sandhill Cranes, and 2 American Pipits. Numerous ducks of many flavors. At the Moose Visitor Center feeders, acitivity was limited to Mountain Chickadees, juncos and Red-winged Blackbirds. -- Chuck Hundertmark 2546 Lake Meadow Drive Lafayette, CO 80026 303-604-0531 Cell: 720-771-8659 [email protected] -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
