COBirders, My Birding for Beginners 101 groups birded at Fountain Creek Regional Park and the nearby Pinello Ranch (limited access) on Friday and Saturday mornings. There were a few migrants coming through. We had lots (100) of Yellow-rumped Warblers on Friday; there were fewer on Saturday morning at FCRP.
Best birds at Fountain Creek Regional Park included: Harris's Sparrow -1 at the nature center Plumbeous Vireo -2 at the nature center Green-tailed Towhee - 1 at the nature center Clark's Grebe - 1 Yellow Warbler -1 FOS Common Yellowthroat - 1 Lesser Yellowlegs-1 Solitary Sandpiper-1 Spotted Sandpiper-1 Best birds at Pinello Ranch: White-faced Ibis - 1 Lesser Yellowlegs - 1 American Avocet - 3 Horned Grebe - 1 Chipping Sparrow Brewer's Sparrow In addition to these Kaye L reported a Blackpoll Warbler at FCRP north of Rice's Ponds. The numbers of birds seems to be a little slow for May 4 in my opinion, but if I remember right, last year the major wave of migrants didn't come through here until May 13.
