Here is how we found the Acorn Woodpecker:

Depart Durango West on US-160 2.1 miles from the bridge over the Animas 
River
Left (SouthWest) on County Road 141 (Wildcat Canyon Road) -- 2.9 Miles
Right (North) on Meadow Road (County Road 142) ... we saw no sign at this 
turn -- 2.2 Miles
-- Road turns to dirt about 1 mile in. Continue north.  See two large dead 
Ponderosa pines on the right (East) side of the road
Cooperative Acorn Woodpecker was in the Southmost tree sitting on a 
horizontal branch
37 15.890N, 107 56.743W
