Greetings -

A brief update on my low key Big Green Year project, where I am trying to
see as many species as possible from my home in NW Fort Collins, by foot or
bicycle. The low key part is that I am not "chasing" birds reported by
others, but rather am going out birding on my own to as many places as I
can get to and recording my observations.

In the past few days I have taken several bike rides to Dixon Reservoir
(Pine Ridge Open Space). Species of possible interest that I have seen
there include white-winged dove, blue grosbeak, black-chinned hummingbird,
MacGillivray's warbler, green-tailed towhee, eastern kingbird, plumbeous
vireo, and Lazuli bunting. My year total is now at 150.

Tomorrow I plan to bike up Rist Canyon and see if I can add some foothills
birds. (And see how far I can bike up the canyon!)
