Hi again,

Now that I've slept and have had some time to get organized (my first time
at home in almost a month), I can give a little more info on the Pomarine
Jaeger.

First, I've uploaded a photo to my flickr site (I have more, but this is
the best one):

I found the bird around 7pm last evening at the following location (google
map):

You get to this point by going to the entrance to get to points on the east
and south sides of the reservoir - the entrance is the more southerly of
the two entrances I know of. (This was the first time I'd ever been to
Antero, and my first visit to Park County since Nov 2005!)

When I arrived, it was literally the first bird I saw as I was pulling into
the main loop drive camping area. It flew within about 20 feet of my car
and gave me a killer diagnostic look, and I think my eyes popped out of my
head for a moment. I know I uttered several expletives out of sheer
surprise and flabbergastery. Once I calmed myself and parked and hastily
got my camera and bins, I couldn't immediately refind the bird.

At the time, conditions were very windy and I was looking into the early
evening sun westward. I reasoned that the bird had settled down somewhere,
but I knew it wouldn't be likely hanging out with other gulls. I started
scoping the immediately shoreline for starters and sure enough it was just
a short ways down the shore from where I parked.

Good luck to any who go looking for it!

p.s. You know that feeling when you see something that is so extraordinary
to you but completely uninteresting to everyone else around you? That's how
I felt yesterday at Antero being surrounded by fishers who didn't even bat
an eye at this completely out-of-place bird flying right around them.
