Hi all, While doing a survey for RMBO on a transect in spruce-fir forest at 11,000 ft this morning, I heard the distinct call and song of White-winged Crossbill. I was reminded of a recent posting about them being seen and heard in Boulder County a week or so ago, and so was intrigued to know that they are elsewhere in Colorado as well this time of year.
My transect was south of French Gulch Road a few miles east of Breckenridge, and a considerable bushwhack up the hill from the Sallie Barber trail. I would not consider these birds chaseable. -- Eric DeFonso Boulder (but currently in points unknown), CO -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
