I birded in far southeastern Colorado today and found a male Long-billed
Curlew in Baca County adjacent to CR 6.  While I watched him from inside my
car about a hundred feet away from the bird it repeatedly gave the
distinctive curlew call.  I couldn't see any other curlews in the area so
wonder if he had begun migration and became separated from his group.  I
