ADAMS COUNTY:
--2 Nashville Warblers were reported by Sheeter at Barr Lake in the ditch
on the boat ramp side of the park on August 13.

ALAMOSA COUNTY:
--Rawinski reported a good variety of shorebirds at Blanca Wetlands on
August 9,including Long-billed Curlew, Baird’s, Least and Semi-palmated
Sandpipers, 2 Black-bellied Plovers, Snowy Plover, and 6 Black-necked
Stilts.
--The WHITE IBIS is still in the area.  On August 17, Beauchaine, refuge
manager of Alamosa NWR reported seeing the WHITE IBIS in a closed area of
the refuge flying around with White-faced Ibis.

BOULDER COUNTY:
--On August 8 Cushman reported a pair of American Three-toed Woodpeckers at
the upper end of the Jean Lunning Trail above Brainard Lake.

CLEAR CREEK COUNTY:
--A f Barrow's Goldeneye with ducklings was reported by Righter on the
north side of Echo Lake on August 14.

FREMONT COUNTY:
--Moss reported that hatch year Black Phoebes continue along the Canon City
Riverwalk west of Sell's Lake parking area at least through 10 August.  On
August 11, Moss reported juvenal Black Phoebes at Sell's Lake adjacent to
the Canon City Riverwalk.  On August 13, Moss reported 2 juvenal Black
Phoebes across the Arkansas River near Sell's Lake and on August 14, Moss
reported 1 Black Phoebe in the same area.
--A young Greater Roadrunner was reported by Moss at Brush Hollow SWA on
August 13.

GARFIELD COUNTY:
--Bunches of Black-throated Gray Warblers were reported by Dahl at Rifle
Gap Reservoir on August 13.

KIOWA COUNTY:
--A 2nd or 3rd-cycle GLAUCOUS-WINGED GULL was reported by Dowell at
Neeogronda Reservoir on August 10.
--Dowell reported that about 5 Snowy Plovers remain at Neeogronda Reservoir
on August 10.

LA PLATA COUNTY:
--A Black-throated Gray Warbler and Nashville Warbler were reported by
Morris at the Durango Hatchery on August 17.

LARIMER COUNTY:
-- A Caspian Tern (perhaps the same one seen by Mlodinow a few weeks ago)
was reported on August 5 by Leatherman at Kechter Pond,
distantly viewable to the southeast from Strauss Cabin Road at a pulloff
about a mile south of Harmony Road.
--A possible 2nd year MEW GULL was reported by Komar in the northwest
lagoon of Lake Loveland on August 14.

MORGAN COUNTY:
-- Two or more LEAST BITTERNS were reported on August 7 by Mlodinow, one
calling, one seen, at area 12 in Andrick Ponds. Parking is permitted along
the entry road to
Jackson SP before entering park proper. From there walk about 30 minutes to
reach the bittern site.

PUEBLO COUNTY:
--A Northern Waterthrush was reported by Drummond at Chico Basin Ranch (fee
area) at HQ Willows on August 17.
--A Great Crested Flycatcher was reported by Drummond at Chico Basin Ranch
in Russian Olives along Rose Pond on August 17.

WASHINGTON COUNTY:
--5 Black-bellied Plovers in breeding plumage were reported by Mlodinow at
Prewitt on August 11.
--An Indigo Bunting was reported by Mlodinow at the Inlet Channel at
Prewitt on August 11.
--A Great Crested Flycatcher was reported by Mlodinow at the Akron Golf
Course on August 11.
--An ALDER FLYCATCHER was reported by Mlodinow at Last Chance on August 11.

DFO FIELD TRIP:
The DFO Field Trip for Sunday August 18, will be to Roxborough State Park
led by Doris Cruze (303-798-8072).  Meet the leader at 0730 at Roxborough
Visitor Center.  To reach the park, take S. Wadsworth Blvd past Chatfield
SP to Waterton Rd on the left.  Take Waterton Rd 1.6 miles east to North
Rampart Range Rd.  Turn right and go south 2.3 miles to Roxborough Park Rd.
 Turn left and follow signs to the park (2.2 miles).  Trip will end around
11:30 so lunch is optional but bring plenty of water.  There is a nice
place to enjoy lunch at the Visitor Center.  State Parks pass required.
