BENT COUNTY: --Duane Nelson reported on September 9 that the white-morph REDDISH EGRET continues at Verhoeff Lake. It may be visible form US 50 at CR 26.5. The egret was NOT seen on September 10. There has also been a sub-ad Snowy Egret at Verhoeff to confuse the ID. For a closer look contact Duane at dnelson1 ATcenturytel.net to see if he is available to help you get a closer look. --A male RUBY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD was reported by Duane Nelson coming to his feeder in Las Animas on September 9 and on September 10. The hummingbird was last seen the morning of September 10. Birders are welcome to look for this bird provided they call or e-mail Duane first. His e-mail is dnelson1 AT centurytel.net --At Tempel Grove on September 9, Duane Nelson reported 2 Great Crested Flycatchers. --At Tempel Grove on September 11, Gillian reported PHILADELPHIA VIREO, Blackpoll Warbler, Great Crested Flycather, and Red-bellied Woodpecker. BOULDER COUNTY: --An Indigo Bunting and Chestnut-sided Warbler were reported by Burke on Old St. Vrain Road in Lyons on September 8. --A Northern Waterthrush was reported by Floyd at Cottonwood Marsh near the boardwalk and a singing Eastern Phoebe at the west end of Cottonwood Marsh on September 10. --An imm Sabine's Gull was reported by Waltman in the NW corner of Lagerman Reservoir on September 10. EL PASO/PUEBLO COUNTIES: --A Black-and-white Warbler was reported by Farese at the Chico Basin Banding Station (fee area) on September 7. --On September 8 at Chico Basin Ranch (fee area), Percival reported Chestnut-sided Warbler and Northern Waterthrush at Rose Pond (Pueblo), Ovenbird at Headquarters (Pueblo) and f/imm Black-and-white-Warbler by the banding station (El Paso). JEFFERSON COUNTY: --A Prothonotary Warbler was found by Goldthwait at Main Reservoir in Lakewood on September 10. Main Reservoir is in the NW corner of Florida and Kipling. Park in the only lot and walk west until you enter a wet woodland. The warbler was with a mixed flock in the woodland. LARIMER COUNTY: --6 Bohemian Waxwings were reported by Lutomski with a flock of Cedar Waxwings at Lee Martinez Park in Fort Colins on September 7. MESA COUNTY: --A Nashville Warbler was reported by Korte at Vega Lake in willows and cottonwoods below the dam at Fisherman's Flats on September 6. --MOFFAT COUNTY: --A m Chestnut-sided Warbler and 3 Nashville Warblers were reported by Luke at Loudy-Simpson Park in Craig on September 11. MORGAN COUNTY: --At Jackson Lake SP on September 5, Sheeter reported in the campground area Black-and-white Warbler, 2 Ovenbirds, Magnolia Warbler, and Bell's Vireo. --At Jackson Lake SP on September 10, Mlodinow reported YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER and Black-and-white Warbler. The flycatcher was in the small group of trees before the red barn (Private) -- Hillbilly Acres. OURAY COUNTY: --A Black-throated Gray Warbler was reported by McConnell at Billy Creek SWA on September 7. PROWERS COUNTY: --At the High School Grove in Lamar, Duane Nelson reported Great Crested Flycatcher on September 9. --A f Tennessee Warbler was reported by Duane Nelson at Lamar Community College on September 9. --At Lamar Community College Woods, Duane Nelson reported on September 10, Magnolia Warbler, Black-and-white Warbler, Northern Cardinal, Great Crested Flycatcher, and Red-bellied Woodpecker. PUEBLO COUNTY: --A Red-throated Loon was reported by Percival by the Sailboard Launching Area of Pueblo Reservoir on September 7. --In Colorado City on September 11, Percival reported a green plumaged PAINTED BUNTING, f SCARLET TANAGER, and 2 Northern Waterthrush. WASHINGTON COUNTY: --A Northern Waterthrush and Ovenbird were reported by Koehn at Last Chance on September 4. --A PHILADELPHIA VIREO was reported by Mlodinow at the Inlet Canal at Prewitt on September 10. WELD COUNTY: --At Loloff Reservoir on September 5, Leatherman and Sheeter reported 2 Sabine's Gulls (1 ad, 1 imm). On September 7, Leatherman reported 1 ad Sabine's Gull at Loloff. On September 8, Kingwood reported that the ad Sabine's Gull continued at Loloff. --2 ad Sabine's Gulls were reported by Lefko at Timnath Reservoir on September 8. No DFO Field trips scheduled but you can help with the Fall Bird Counts Saturday, September 14 Barr Lake periphery.
