Hi all,

Like Cathy posted earlier, the Little Gull was present this morning at
Terry Lake.

I ran into John Vanderpoel, Peter Gent, Joyce Takamine and Maggie Boswell
there, first on the west side of the lake but a bit later on the east side.
In the mornings, that is certainly the better viewing option. To get to the
east side, exit US 287 west at (what I think is) county road 4. The dirt
road goes for about a mile before it ends at a private driveway entrance,
but from there you can have nice backlit morning views of a good portion of
the reservoir. It was from that with John's help we were all able
eventually to locate and to get on the bird.

Even from there, the bird was never close, but the more favorable light
made it easier to separate the bird from the few dozen Bonaparte's Gulls
that are also currently working the reservoir. A scope is definitely
necessary to get anything resembling a good look at it.

Oh, and this was a lifer for me. Thanks to Steve Mlodinow for his timely
reporting of this bird!

Good luck to anyone else looking for this bird,

Eric
