The Houts Lake Brant was still in the same area at about 1 PM Tuesday. ?I'm
wondering how wild this goose is. ?When we first arrived it was eating grass in
the vicinity of the 3 Canada Geese. ?A woman walking a dog came down the path
and the 3 Canada Geese retreated to the water while the dog was still a long
way off, the Brant did likewise when they got closer but came back on land a
little later and resumed feeding. ?Another woman walked down the path (with no
dog) and the Brant, while looking more alert and moving toward the water a
little, allowed her to pass within about 20 feet then turn and stare while it
resumed feeding. ?The 3 Canada Geese remained well out in the water during this
time. ?Don't know what this ?behavior means but I wonder. Bill Prather, Longmont
