Gull numbers were noticeably higher at Horseshoe Lake this afternoon. Thayer's
Gull was conspicuously absent, but Lesser Black-backed Gull was off the charts.
There were 8-10 adults and 6 immatures. I entered 14 onto ebird and considered
it a conservative count. Gulls stage at various locations around the lake. At
least 1 LBBG was present at each of 4 observation points around the lake. Most
of them were visible from the end of Engelman Drive on the west side, or in the
northwest corner, viewed from Elm Ct.
