On a lark explored up Jackson Creek Rd off Hwy 105 south of Sedalia early this
morning. Found 3 separate groups of Cassin's Finch for a total of 20. One
group of Cassin's was even feeding along the side of the road. The road is
closed part way up to Rampart Range in the National Forest so this is an up and
back trip on the gravel road. Next tried for and found a Three-toed
Woodpecker actively feeding near Hwy 67 and Rampart Range Rd. Pulling into
the parking lot off Rampart Range road we almost ran over a small flock of 6
Red Crossbills! Bonus.

Good Birding,
