I did the drive to look for the Snowy Owl yesterday before the storm. Best to 
spot against a brown landscape than a white. Felt like the middle of nowhere 
except for the two other birders at the intersection of 94 and 11th. We braved 
the cold from the storm front as long as we could. No Snowy. 

But... on my return I took 70 back and exited to 86 which goes into Castle 
Rock. There were many Rough-legged Hawks perching low on fence posts. I counted 
15. You have to be watching far ahead and be prepared around each bend in the 
road. Very up close, got some great photos.
