Margie Joy went out to Pueblo Reservoir today, and found only a couple open holes. The reservoir is almost entirely frozen! So, the birds that were hoping to spent the entire winter -- three species of loons, five species of grebes, cormorants, a lot of ducks, and other birds are not there anymore. She said, there are gulls around. I will try to get out there this weekend, and report on what is still around. I remember only once in the late 1980s, that the only open water on Pueblo Reservoir, was near the dam. It rarely gets so cold down here, to freeze over Pueblo Reservoir completely. It has been extremely cold around here lately, and no wind, to break up the ice.
