Union Reservoir, east of Longmont has open water for the first time since  
early December thanks to the high winds last night and today. Birds are 
starting  to pour in: 100 Common Merganser, 50 Common Goldeneye, 4 Bufflehead, 
10  Green-winged Teal, 60 Mallard, 200 Ring-billed Gull, 3 Herring Gull, 5 
Bald  Eagles.  Bill and Inez Prather Longmont
