After cancelling the DFO trio for the abysmal weather in the Denver area
yesterday, we were ready to see what was out today. This morning at Red
Rocks, the Golden-crowned Sparrow made a couple of cameo appearances over
the course of about an hour, one from under the platform feeder, the other
at the upper feeding area under the tree by the footpath (in other words,
the usual haunts). The sun came out while we were at Chatfield a little
later, and while looking toward the Plum Creek area from the sand spit by
the marina, a single Tree Swallow patrolled the sky over the Mergansers
there. Spring must be on the way.
