I spotted a Harlan's Red-tailed Hawk on the east side of Canon City late
this afternoon that had a very white face that makes them ghostly
distinctive. I got some photos of it that I have uploaded to my Birds and
Nature blog <http://birdsandnature.blogspot.com/> with discussion of field
marks that are visible in my photos.

Also saw a Spotted Towhee today and observed Curve-billed Thrashers in
cholla cactus pairing up. Had a single Evening Grosbeak come to my feeders
over the week-end, unfortunately when it was snowing and little seed in the
tray feeders-maybe a scout but haven't seen any again.
I was surprised yesterday to find a lingering male Williamson's Sapsucker
on private property in Canon City. Also saw both an adult and an immature
Golden Eagle yesterday.
