Hi, Cobirders.

On a whim late this afternoon Jeanne and I decided to see if we could find the
Chukar that was reported on south Marksheffel Road. No luck there so we went
over to Big Johnson and saw a nice selection of birds on the reservoir.

Then we went below the damn on Goldfield Road. At the bottom of the hill just
past the small bridge there is a pond (actually a flooded field) and we noticed
a flycatcher flitting back and forth from a branch. We had just seen a Say's
Phoebe about 100 feet away, but this bird was noticeably different. Its stomach
and underparts were bright white, the back and head were very dark either brown
or black. The chest was not black like the many Black Phoebes we had recently
seen in Arizona. We watched it for about 10 minutes before it moved farther out
in the field along an east/west fence line blocked to our view by closer trees.

I hope others can refind the bird tomorrow to confirm our ID.
