While this probably happens every year - I personally have never witnessed Franklin's Gulls at Manitou Lake (Fee area - $6). Alas, last night after sunset a flock (of about 50 - could this be the same one that SeEtta reported in Canon City yesterday evening) flew over Manitou Lake, circled a couple of times as if considering whether to choose Manitou Lake as it's roost site for the night, but then climbed back into the sky and headed off towards Cheeseman Lake.
This is species #168 for me at Manitou Lake in 26 years! Also new last night and yesterday were: . Blue-winged Teal . Turkey Vulture . Wilson's Snipe . Franklin's Gull . Tree Swallow This brings the count of species (not counting the horned grebes reported by Robb H that I didn't get to see) for this season at the lake to 39. Full list below.
