They were with a flock of 120+ White-faced Ibis. BENT COUNTY: --2 Eastern Phoebe were reported by Percival at Melody Tempel Grove on May 2. --A Caspian Tern was reported by Drummond at Lake Hasty on May 2. BOULDER COUNTY: --On April 26, Gent reports a male Summer Tanager along Boulder Creek on the east CU campus, which is between 30th St. and the Foothills Parkway. It was found due north of the scoreboard at the CU soccer pitch, but along the creek. It was seen by others on April 27. --On April 29, Gent found a Nashville Warber on the Boulder Creek Trail on CU East Campus. --An Eastern Phoebe was reported by Zorawowicz on the W side of Cottonwood Marsh on May 1. DELTA COUNTY: --Garrison reported the Harris’s Sparrow continues near his feeder at his FS office in Paonia, on May 1. --A Black Phoebe was reported by Beason at the Old Hotchkiss Sewage Pond on April 28. DENVER COUNTY: --On April 27, Canter reported a Long-tailed Duck at Rocky Mountain Lake. Clouse reported the Long-tailed Duck on April 29, and Rurik reported the duck on April 30. DOUGLAS/JEFFERSON COUNTIES: --On April 28,Suddjian reports the Eastern Phoebe continues immediately east of Kingfisher Bridge, and a second Eastern Phoebe at the Plum Creek Picnic Area at Chatfield SP. --On April 29, Suddjian reported Eastern Phoebe at Kingfisher Bridge and a pair at Plum Creek Picnic Area of Chatfield SP. --On April 29, on the west side upstream from Kingfisher Bridge, Suddjian reported Black-throated Gray Warbler. GARFIELD COUNTY: --Filby reported on May 2 that his yard Harris's Sparrow in Carbondale is still present. If you would like to try to see the bird email him at dickfilby AT hotmail.com. JEFFERSON COUNTY: --McBurney reports banding a Winter Wren, first ever for this station, at the Chatfield Banding Station on April 27. LARIMER COUNTY: --On April 28, Lyon reports a flock of GLOSSY IBIS in a slough by a large stack of hay bails, west of CR 9 and CR E in Wellington. --Biggerstaff reports a Black-throated Gray Warbler at Dixon Reservoir/Pine Ridge Natural Area in west Fort Collins, on April 28. On April 29, Panjabi reported Black-throated Gray Warbler at Dixon Reservoir. --2 GLOSSY IBIS were repoerted by Donoghue at the N end of Deadman Lake which is at the SE corner of CR 3 and Prospect Road on May 1. MOFFAT COUNTY: --Luke reports a Snowy Plover at the County Maintenance Shop Pond off 1st St. in Craig, on April 26, his first in Moffat, which is special, the Snowy Plover was seen again on April 28 by Luke. MONTEZUMA COUNTY: --A Black Phoebe was reported by Vest in Cortez between McElmo Creek and Denny Lake on May 1. --A possible NEOTROPIC CORMORANT was photographed by Bartlett at Denny Lake in Cortez on May 2 and has been present for a couple of days. MONTROSE COUNTY: --A f HOODED ORIOLE visited the jelly feeder at Coen Dexter's place in Nulca on May 1 and May 2. PROWERS COUNTY: --On April 29, Moss reported a Broad-winged Hawk in Lamar. --A f type HEPATIC TANAGER was reported by Severs at Lamar Community College south of cement bench on April 30. --A Broad-winged Hawk was reported by Moss at Lamar Community College Woods (LCCW) on April 30. On May 2, Moss reported a Broad-winged Hawk at LCCW. --On May 1 Moss reported a Broad-winged Hawk at Fairmount Cemetery. --A pair of Northern Cardinals was reported by Moss at the north end of LCCW on May 2. --A Red-bellied Woodpecker was reported by Moss at Fairmount Cemetery on May 2. --At LCCW on May 2, Percival reported Red-Bellied Woodpecker and Northern Waterthrush. PUEBLO COUNTY: --Percival reports a White-eyed Vireo and a Black-throated Gray Warbler at the extreme east side of Osprey Picnic Area, Rock Canyon, below Pueblo Reservoir dam in Pueblo, CO, on April 28. --A Western Palm Warbler was reported by Percival close to the Arkansas River, east of Cottonwood Picnic Area below Pueblo Reservoir Dam on April 30 and May 1. --A non-adult Lesser Black-backed Gull was reported by Percival at the South Shore Marina at Pueblo Reservoir on May 1. --2 Green Herons were reported by Percival at Pueblo City Park on May 1. --On May 2 at Chico Basin Ranch (fee area), Drummond reported a Black-throated Gray Warbler at HQ Willows and a Western Palm Warbler at Rose Pond. WELD COUNTY: --On May 1, Sheeter reported PAINTED REDSTART and PINE WARBLER at Crow Valley Campground. She warns birders to bring rubber boots. The PAINTED REDSTART was seen by m.o.b. on May 1. A Black-throated Gray Warbler was reported by Moore at Crow Valley Campground on May 1. On May 2, the PAINTED REDSTART, PINE WARBLER, and Black-throated Gray Warbler were seen by m.o.b. at Crow Valley. On May 2, Martinez reported a Black-throated Blue Warbler at Crow Valley Campground. DFO Field Trips: Saturday May 3, 2014 South Platte River Trail Leader: Jackie King, 720-381-3314 Meet leader at the parking area at 88th and South Platte River Trail at 9 a.m. From I-76 take E. 88th Ave. exit, go west on 88th for 1.6 miles then turn south at Colorado Blvd. Turn left again into the parking lot for the South Platte River Greenway Trailhead. This trip will be a half-day trip so bring water and snacks; lunch is optional. We will walk along the trail and see which migrants are there as well as enjoy the many resident birds that should be back. Leader uses a wheelchair for mobility so it will be accessible and easy, level walking. Good trip for new members and novice birders.
