Today (Friday) I listened to a Cassin's Vireo singing on the Canon City Riverwalk. Though I spotted it a few times I could not get a photo of it. Also Plumbeous Vireos on the Riverwalk as well as good numbers of other neotropical migrants including many Yellow-rumped Warblers. Lazuli Buntings were more vocal today, I heard 3-4 singing along the bluff trail. And I saw a Black Phoebe perched on the other side of the river from the half mile section of the Canon City Riverwalk, a location I have seen 1-2 Black Phoebes several times in past month or so.
I had time to upload on my Birds and Nature blog<http://birdsandnature.blogspot.com/>a short video clip of one of the Gray Flycatchers showing it's tail dipping behavior--and it shows the bird lost it's balance and almost fell off the perch it was on at Sell's Lake. I have also uploaded some photos showing the beautiful colors of violet and green on Violet-green Swallows I got Tuesday when the late snowstorm had many birds including swallows down . Marilyn McBurney from RMBO had stated this about this species in her post the other day, "I think we fail to appreciate how truly gorgeous these birds are because we are usually looking at them as they streak through the sky or are perched really high on a telephone wire." I totally agree More birds but too late tonight to post.
