Hi all
Having been awakened pre-dawn by a SORA calling at the bottom of our yard, I spent a long day out in the field today joining the Roaring Fork Audubon Spring Count. Highlight was undoubtedly a splendid male AMERICAN REDSTART that we found on private property in Carbondale, but after getting a few documentary photos we soon lost it as it moved incessantly down-valley. Other unusual birds included a FORSTER'S TERN, and at Spring Park Reservoir, Eagle County, a COMMON LOON, two WILSON'S PHALAROPES and a SORA. Snow again in the hills tonight - that's Spring in the Rockies!
