In my haste to post about the Yellow-billed Cuckoo, I forgot to mention that I had come there after making a brief stop at the Acorn Woodpecker spot along Stoney Pass Road in Jefferson County. I wasn't even there at the spot for 3 minutes, nor had walked 10 feet from my car before I had gotten great looks at both species. It was the kind of sighting that (almost) makes up for the numerous dips I've had over the years.
I also had one Norm Lewis who directed me to a view of his namesake Woodpecker. Got great closeup looks of Norm especially, no bins necessary. He also vocalized repeatedly. ;) -- Eric DeFonso Boulder, CO -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
