Cobirders,

One of the highlights of the annual Colorado Field Ornithologists' convention
is the scientific paper session featuring presentations of all aspects of avian
population biology in our state.
Every year the CFO convention presents an afternoon of up-to-date bird research
prepared by CFO members as well as by students and faculty at colleges and
universities around the state, and 2014 is no exception. Papers this year
cover topics from high plains nesting birds like Mountain Plover and McCown's
Longspur to more ubiquitous species like Rock Wren, American Robin and Mourning
Dove. Bird song comes up prominently as well in presentations on "birdsong
duets" and on eastern versus western Warbling Vireo. In other words, you may
not be able to simply read about it later!
