Scott: I haven't encountered any in town yet but did find some low down in Skunk Canyon (southwest Boulder) yesterday. In general, Red Crossbills are seemingly everywhere in the northern Colorado mountains this summer (based on my own observations plus the number of red dots -- recent reports -- on ebird). Has the deep soil moisture built up during the previous 10 months resulted in a good cone crop?
