Several people (I think seven) were able to see the jaeger at Pueblo Reservoir today. I think everyone is sure it isn't a Pomarine, however after that, who knows. The bird stayed far away most of the time, except when Bill Maynard and I were at North Picnic Road, the bird was fairly close. The bird is a juvenile dark jaeger. The bird ranged from out from the North Shore Marina east toward the Sailboard launching area, though almost always far from shore. People saw the bird at South Shore Marina far out, Sailboard, North Picnic Road, and east of Hobie Cat Road.
Joe Roller found a Caspian Tern at the island at West Fisherman's Point at Pueblo Reservoir, and then it flew east, to unknown locations. Lots of Black and Forster's Terns were also on the Reservoir today. After looking at the poor photos of mine and hopefully better ones by Bill Maynard and reading books, we'll try to come up with an identification.
