Got rained out on Friday, but the weather change brought in a whole new
batch of birds for Barr Lake State Park's annual fall birding festival
today. Banded 70 new today, plus recaught 19 banded earlier in the season.

Here's the days breakdown for new captures:

Western Wood-pewee 3
Least Flycatcher 1 (FOS)
Black-capped Chickadee 1
House Wren 3
Blue-grey Gnatcatcher 1 (FOS)
Swainson's Thrush 1
Orange-crowned Warbler 2
Yellow Warbler 3
American Redstart 1 (FOS, a beautiful adult female)
Wilson's Warbler 50 (Almost always our most common species, they seem to be
coming through in record numbers)
Chipping Sparrow 1
Gambel's White-crowned Sparrow 1 (FOS)
American Goldfinch 2

We will be closed Sunday and Monday (our regular days' off this season),
then open Tuesday through Thursday, CLOSED Friday for RMBO staff meeting,
