updated at 7:22 AM, sponsored by Denver Field Ornithologists and Rocky

Sabine's Gull (Summary by Kaempfer,  "...have hit in big numbers this
weekend.  I saw a juvenile Sabine’s at Lagerman Reservoir in Boulder County
mid-day today and noticed continuing reports from others at Cherry Creek,
Chatfield, Jumbo and Big Johnson Reservoirs." Costilla County too.

*BENT COUNTY:*
--A Bell’s Vireo, MOURNING WARBLER, imm. female, PAINTED BUNTING, green
type, were reported by Mlodinow at Neenoshe Locust Grove where the scrubby
locust, tamarisk and Russian Olives are located on September 8.

*BOULDER COUNTY:*
--A BLUE-HEADED VIREO was reported by Mlodinow at Golden Ponds, Longmont,
near where the bridge crosses the creek/river, on September 10.

*COSTILLA COUNTY: *Rawinski reported a trio of Sabine's Gulls at Smith
Reservoir SWA, near Blanca, on 9/14.

*DENVER: *Alec Hopping reported a Caspian Tern at Marston Reservoir, flying
southeast toward Chatfield SP on September 14..

*EL PASO COUNTY:*
--Peterson reports an ARCTIC TERN at Big Johnson Reservoir, on September 8,
 in low light. B. Maynard saw the bird today (9/9) and confirmed it as an
ARCTIC TERN. The ARCTIC TERN was seen by Walbek and others from 11am til
noon on September 9. B. Maynard reports seeing the ARCTIC TERN at Big
Johnson on the opposite side of the reservoir where an island is seasonally
located.  Scope for viewing desirable. The Lesser Black-backed Gull
continues at Big Johnson Reservoir.
--Drummond reports a BLUE-HEADED VIREO at the Cassita, at Chico Basin
Ranch, fee area, on September 13.
--A BAIRD'S SPARROW was found by A. Driscoll on Drennan Road on August 26.
Many individuals have since reported up to 4 BAIRD’S SPARROWS near the
intersection of Drennan and Hemingway (this area is southeast of Colorado
Springs).  On Sept. 7, Mlodinow reports 3 ad. Baird’s Sparrows within 45
mins. before reaching the 90-degree bend in Drennan Road, there was 1
cooperative ad. Baird’s Sparrow on Drennan Rd. just east of that 90 degree
bend.
--A Bell’s Vireo was reported by Peterson at Hanson Nature Area (AKA Area 7
of Fountain Creek Regional Park), between the two small ponds that are on
the west side of Fountain Creek.


*JEFFERSON/DOUGLAS COUNTY:*
--A Ruby-throated Hummingbird was reported by Sanders on September 12, at
this home. During the quick looks he had of the bird, he observed a red
gorget, but it was a little different than the usual male Broad-tailed
Hummingbird. Contact him via email if you want to try to see the bird,
visitors are welcome.

*LARIMER COUNTY:*
--A PARASITIC JAEGER was reported by Komar at Timnath Reservoir on
September 13. The jaeger was not seen on the morning of September 14, but
is to be looked for on large lakes farther south.
--A Blackburnian Warbler was reported by Walters along the canal behind his
house on September 9, if you are interested in chasing this bird, just
email him.
--A  Blackburnian Warbler (male) was reported by Sparks along the Poudre
Bike Trail, about 0.45 miles west of the Poudre Bike Trail and Lee Martinez
Park trail intersection. RFI on date, please.
-- On September 14, Komar reported several tern species at Boyd Lake,
including FOUR Arctic Terns. Helpful details are in Nick's post to CObirds
at 10 last evening.

*PARK COUNTY:*
--An American Three-toed Woodpecker was reported by Suddjien at Timberline
Campground in Pike NF, off County Road (CR) 58, on the east side of Kenosha
Pass on September 3.

*PUEBLO COUNTY:*
--A PINE WARBLER was reported by Percival on September 13, east of the
Osprey Picnic area on the North side of the Arkansas River, below Pueblo
Reservoir dam.

*WELD COUNTY:*
--A VARIED THRUSH was reported by Wright at Crow Valley Campground in the
creek bed that goes north from the Group Area out to the gate leading to
the Mourning Dove Trail/Primitive Camping area on September 9.  The bird
was seen in a elm and down in the willows along this stretch.
--1 Eastern Wood-Pewee was reported by Mlodinow at Pawnee National
Grassland--Crow Valley Campground on September 5. Heard on September 9 by
Leatherman, probably the same individual.
