Hello, Birders.

There was a nice White-crowned Sparrow night-flight over Lafayette, Boulder
County, earlier this chilly, humid Thursday morning, Oct. 2nd. The breathy,
rising flight calls of White-crowns are one of the characteristic sounds of
the nighttime hours at this time of year. Also Great Horned Owls and Canada
Geese.

Just for kicks, here's advance notice of a nocturnal field trip next year:

You have to wade through a bit of philosophy-lite before you get to the
actual field trip details.
