One Red-necked Grebe was with other large grebes off Sailboard launching area
at Pueblo Reservoir this morning. This is an early date for the Pueblo Area by
three days, previous early fall date was 5 October 2000, according to Dave
Silverman's Pueblo Area Migration Calendar. At the South Shore Marina tires,
there were two Common Terns, six Forster's Terns, and three Franklin's Gulls.

Birding below Pueblo Reservoir dam of late, hasn't had anything too exciting
for me. Mountain birds are certainly around: a Pygmy Nuthatch, Red-breasted
Nuthatch, Pine Siskins flying around, an Evening Grosbeak, Red-naped
Sapsuckers, Townsend's Solitaire have all been seen in the area recently. I
saw my first Merlin of the fall this morning, below the dam. A few different
shorebirds have been around recently too, a Pectoral Sandpiper, a Lesser
Yellowlegs, and nine American Avocets. The only warblers recently have been
Yellow-rumped, Orange-crowned, Wilson's, and Common Yellowthroat.
