Sure enough, large numbers of cackling geese were at Sloan Lake this 
morning making the resident loafers look like tourists...

15 California gulls were on the docks near the admin building on the North 
side. eBird has them as rare, and this is the first time I've seen more 
than 2 at a time (though there has been a single bird at the lake for over 
a year...)

2 male buffleheads, 3 hooded mergansers, lots of shoveler have returned, 
and we're up to 4 sub-species of dark-eyed junco with oregon and 
slate-colored showing up today.
