I thought today might be a no-show for Purple and Cassin's Finches at my feeders in Las Animas, but the Cassin's Finch finally appeared at 12:40 p.m, and the Purple Finch at 1 p.m. I must have captured lightning in a bottle, because both posed "side by each" (an old Upper Peninsula of Michigan term) on my platform feeder at 2:20 this afternoon.
