As I type a *Nor. Saw-whet Owl* is calling fairly near to my Ken Caryl
Valley home, down out of the woods in Massey Draw drainage where there are
some cottonwoods and willows. On Mar 5 I spotted my first *White-winged
Junco* for my yard list, being the 6th form of junco I've had in my yard.
An *Eastern Downy Woodpecker* in the yard on Mar 4 was just into the hills
and beyond the species' usual distribution in the local region.

Today 3 *Am. White Pelicans* were soaring over Cooley Lake at South Platte
Park, Arapahoe. A 3rd cycle *Lesser Black-backed Gull* was amid some
Ring-billeds on the ice there.
