COBirders, I saw a female Northern Cardinal at Sondermann Park at 11:35 am today. Perhaps this is the same individual that was present for two days in early December. Seen about 1/4 mile north of the cable-roadblock (which is technically the north end of the park). The bird was in dense shrubs along Mesa Creek near the "Wastewater" man hole cover.
I had a view of her for less than a minute before she disappeared into the bushes. I did not see her again despite another 45 minutes of searching. Three American Kestrels (apparently 2 males and 1 female) were calling, displaying, and frequently copulating in the same area. Other bird activity was generally good as well.
