For the record, one of our local birders, Dotti Russell, found two Evening
Grosbeaks eating elm tree seeds in her neighborhood; Jane Stulp and myself
were also able to see the birds. This was a great sighting and not an easy
one as the grosbeaks were blending well into the heavily-seeded elm trees
and were on the move.
