After a quick unsuccessful look for the longspurs reported by Steve and Joey
(all the other birds were there- bluebirds, sparrows, pipits), I popped over to
the prairie dog town to check for burrowing owls. No luck on those, but the
consolation prize is 22 long-billed curlews, semi-hidden in the vegetation
about fifty yards off the road. Near the south entrance.
