April 19

3 *Western Bluebirds *at Jackass Hill Park in Littleton were an uncommon
find for Arapahoe Co. A flock of 7 *Long-billed Curlews* flew over St. Mary
Catholic Church along South Prince, Littleton.

April 21

An *Osprey* flew north of South Valley Park in Ken Caryl Valley, JeffCo.

Chatfield Swim Beach (JeffCo) had a fishing *Osprey*, 2 *Marbled Godwits*
flying north, a *Spotted Sandpiper* and a *Least Sandpiper*. A *Clark's
Grebe* was among Westerns, and *Franklin's* and *Bonaparte's Gulls* were on
the water, and 5 species of swallows.

Kingfisher Bridge had the continuing pair of *Eastern Phoebes*. One of the
pair was working on a nest.

The riparian along the South Platte upstream of Kingfisher on the Douglas
side had a male *Northern Parula* (not singing), and *House Wrens *had
returned in force.

The pair of *Eastern Phoebes* at Plum Creek near the picnic area (Douglas)
was duly noted and checked off. Some well-dressed migrant *Yellow-rumped
Warblers* of both Myrtle and Audubon forms were a welcome sight.

A *Wilson's Snipe *was in a flooded open area near my Ken Caryl home...not
a big deal but good I think for Ken Caryl Valley. A *Green-tailed Towhee*
was along the Hogback Trail north of Massey Draw in the KC Valley.

April 22

The Sacred Heart Retreat House grounds near Sedalia (Douglas) had a
*Green-tailed
Towhee*, male *Western Tanager*, and a singing *Cassin's Finch*. Also
a *Brewer's
Sparrow* and a large number of *Chipping Sparrows.*
