Hi all

 

Denise and I headed up to Jackson County Wednesday afternoon, returning
Thursday afternoon. We saw some interesting birds as follows. All
sightings/counts refer to Thursday except as noted. Certainly a lot more
migrants around than there were in this area 9 days ago!

 

Walden reservoir and adjacent ponds (Jackson)

Common Loon 2

Snowy Egret 2 (1 on Wednesday, 2 today)

Bonaparte's Gull 8+

Franklin's Gull 10+

Wilson's Phalarope 18

Marbled Godwit 14

Willet 4+

Lesser Yellowlegs 4

Long-billed Dowitcher 5

Eared Grebe, Western Grebe, American Coots, California Gulls all in the
hundreds

American White Pelican, Double-crested Cormorants: many

Canvasback sev, Bufflehead sev, 

American Pipit several - all flyovers

Bewick's Wren 1

 

Eighteen Island Reservoir, Jackson County (south side of CR34 at  40.558408,
-106.354816)

American Avocet 80+

 

Hwy 134, west of Gore Pass (in Routt County)

American Three-toed Woodpecker pair

Lark Sparrow 1 (FOY)
