Hi COBirders, Wet this morning, as one would expect. Low ceiling, calm, drizzle until 11:30. Banding (and birding) was slow but steady, with many migrants working their way N along Fountain Creek as the morning progressed. Highlight today was a second Northern Waterthrush at CSR this week.
Banded today: House Wren 5 (these were migrants - all carrying lots of fat) Gray Catbird N Waterthrush, adult Orange-crowned Warbler, male Com Yellowthroat, male Yellow-breasted Chat, male Lincoln’s Sparrow 2 White-crowned Sparrow (Gambel’s) Am Goldfinch 5, plus one previously banded 8/14 Red-winged Blackbird 5 Yellow Warbler recap from 5/14 Plus caught in the nets, but not banded - male Black-chinned Hummingbird, male Broad-tailed Hummingbird It is VERY muddy on the roads at CSR. It will take a couple days to dry-out and harden-up. Plus Little Fountain Creek was close to topping the service road, near the main banding station, and some of the roadbed was washed out. Good birding, Steve Brown Colorado SPrings -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
