We decided to brave the quickly deteriorating weather and take a walk up by Daigre Lake Wildlife Area.
We had FOS Warbling Vireo and Wilson's Warblers. Yellow-breasted Chats and Common Yellowthroat were calling Violet-green, Tree, and Northern Rough-winged Swallows were about White-crowned and Chipping Sparrows were flitting around A Western Tanager paused by the lake, a Yellow Warbler joined him, briefly, on the same branch! We were beginning to succumb to Yellow-rumped Warbler fatigue when we saw spotted among them a lovely breeding male Northern Parula! He stopped just long enough to give us a crippling views of his broken eyering, yellow lower mandible, yellow throat, black and rufous breast band and rufous along his flanks. Best of all he was at eye level and quite close! Beautiful little bird...if only he had stayed long enough to be photographed!
