I was not able to spend much time out, but a stop at Hildebrand Ranch
had a *Cassin's
Kingbird* and my first *Olive-sided Flycatcher* and *Western Wood-Pewee* of
the season. There were two *Lark Buntings*, and some of the usual migrant
sparrows were numerous.

Later, back home, a male *Lazuli Bunting* showed up at me feeder at dusk,
vying for space with some truly gold *American Goldfinches*. Very pretty in
the falling snow, but for a sense of their desperation. A flock of 4 *Evening
Grosbeaks* went over my home earlier in the day. No doubt they are much
more at home in the snow tonight than a bunting.
