Today marked the last day of this year’s CFO SE Colorado Spring Field trip.
Some parties departed earlier, and one was unfortunately towed away after car
problems.

For the rest, we started at Lake Hasty Campground where, as with Brandon and
his group, we found a White-winged Dove and a family of Eastern Bluebirds (but
missed Nashville Warbler, in fact the cold and winds held down the number of
migrants in general). We also found a Red-headed Woodpecker, plus on the
lakes, one Black and two Least Terns.

John Martin Reservoir produced two Piping Plovers and a Bonaparte’s Gull.

We then went to Melody Temple Grove where we also found Palm Warbler, Northern
Waterthrush (4+), American Redstart and Broad-winged Hawk along with
MacGillivray’s Warbler, Hooded Warbler and Common Poorwill.

Finally we went to Sweetwater Reservoir where there were two Snowy Plovers.
