COBirders, Just now on my backyard niger feeder was a visiting, very bright Lesser Goldfinch. The more common form here is the green-backed, but this guy was coal black on the back, upper wings and crown. The very large patch at the base of the primaries was a blinding white while the breast and belly were a nice goldfinch yellow. Unfortunately he was disappointed with the paucity of niger seed in my feeder so he left before I could get out my camera.
