The Cedar Waxwings arrived yesterday - a big flock came into the station
area as we were finishing closing the nets. One actually perched briefly
on the top trammel of the last open net as we arrived to close it, did the
bird equivalent of thumbing his nose at us, and took off. Today we managed
to catch 2 of the lovely creatures; hoping for a few more tomorrow on our
closing day!

Here's the breakdown for the 29 new captures today. The numbers continue to
be solid for the last week in May:

Western Wood-pewee 2
Western Flycatcher 1
Dusky Flycatcher 1
Black-capped Chickadee 1
House Wren 2
Swainson's Thrush 4
Gray Catbird 2
Cedar Waxwing 2
Yellow Warbler 5
Wilson's Warbler 4
Song Sparrow 1
Mountain White-crowned Sparrow 2
Bullock's Oriole 1
American Goldfinch 1

Tomorrow is the last day of spring banding at Chatfield!
