Hi all

One of the nests have fledglings along Weld CR 33 in Nunn.

   - Photos of nine owlets in one burrow (all told now 13 owls and counting
   in colony) - http://coloradobirder.ning.com/photo
   - Three other presumed nests in there haven't seen any sign of
   fledglings yet

At Weld CR 100 prairire dog town near Keota (where plover family was
sighted), we could not refoinf plover family but did find three Burrowing
Owls this time as well as when I was scanning for the plovers me and a
Badger were staring at each other through my binos--his den in the middle
of colony.

On my Nunn BBS I had 46 species (historical list if 67 I believe). New to
the list are Ruddy Duck and American Coot. Also, had an active Ferruginous
Hawk nest with three chicks and both longspurs (as usual).

Last item of note, Lone Tree Creek continues to flood its banks on its way
from I25 near WY border down to Greeley--on Weld 98 near Weld CR 37 it
flooded 98 and damaged the road so much so kids were snorkling in it
yesterday. Also, at Weld 96/37 we have a new "lake" in the old gravel pit
and just before the lake is a riparian area now flooded as well. Local
ranchers have said they haven't seen water in those places in 80 years!

Thanks Gary Lefko, Nunn
